Reporting windows, definitions and coverage
The original files label these weeks Sunday–Saturday. The STB reporting rule and its August 3 letter describe Saturday–Friday periods. This discrepancy remains unresolved. We use the dates printed in each original and do not align these observations with Clearing Yard’s separate Monday–Sunday reports.
The inventory field “Gibson” appears as “IHB Autos (IHB)” in the supplementary report. The yard list covers 11 named yards. Receiving-carrier trains-held figures describe the wider gateway; BRC is not a Clearing-only series.
Trains held are staged short of Chicago at the receiving carrier’s request after missing their scheduled arrival. Daily snapshots are averaged across the week. Zero is a reported zero, not a missing value.
This view shows six individually checked weeks. Older date conflicts and source disagreements require review before extending inventory and dwell toward March 2017. No combined gateway dwell average, live alert status or capacity score is calculated.
